The Poco X7 5G is primarily for those who want a designer phone that delivers
Design
Poco X7 5G is mainly for those who want a designer phone that delivers performance. Inside the box, you get the phone, USB Type-C cable, charger, SIM ejector tool, user guide and protective case. The back of the phone feels very premium. It is going to fit perfectly with the looks of Gen Z i.e. youth. But I personally did not like such a big branding of Poco in the phone. Its leather finish is great and does not let the phone slip from the hand. If the camera module was a little more compact, the look and feel would have been more ideal. Still, it can be given full marks in terms of The company has worked hard on the build quality and durability of POCO X7 5G. This phone supports IP66 + IP68 + IP69 ratings, which means that it is going to be safe to some extent from dust and water damage. The power button and volume rocker of the phone are on its right side. Their positioning was fine for me. The SIM tray is given at the bottom. Along with it is the Type-C port and speaker. A speaker is also at the top of the phone, which makes it a dual speaker phone.
Display
The phone has a 6.67-inch AMOLED curved display. Which offers 1.5K resolution. To protect it from scratches, it has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The display has a peak brightness of 3000 nits, which makes the screen look bright even in sunlight. The refresh rate of 120Hz and the touch sampling rate of 240Hz make the POCO X7 5G great for gaming and smooth scrolling.
In the initial use, the display color-contrast seemed balanced to me. Due to the curved display, the bezels are very thin and the display is visible throughout the phone. Its punch hole cutout is also very small, inside which there is a 20MP selfie camera. Its in-display fingerprint sensor responds fast. But you should buy this phone only if you are comfortable with a phone with a big display.
RAM + Chipset
POCO X7 5G has a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset, which is made on 4nm TSMC process. The company sent us the yellow variant, which has 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The initial performance of the phone seems fine to me. Apps are opening and closing quickly. It is handling the load of 10 to 12 tabs in Chrome browser without interruption. The gaming performance of the phone is still pending, for which you will have to wait for its detailed review.
Battery, Software
POCO X7 5G runs on HyperOS based on Android 14. The company has promised 3 years of Android updates and 4 years of security updates. POCO X7 5G has a 5500mAh battery, it supports 45W turbo charging. It is claimed that this phone will be charged 100 percent in 47 minutes. In initial use, the battery of the phone seems durable and charging is also fast. However, the battery test of the phone will tell how much power it has. In the review, we will also give you the results of the battery test.
Camera
POCO X7 5G has a 50MP main rear camera. It supports optical image stabilization and electronic image stabilization. To explain in simple language, the pictures you click with this camera will show more stability. It has an 8MP ultra-wide camera, which captures a 120-degree field of view. It has another 2MP sensor, which will be useful in macro shots. The phone has a 20MP selfie camera. I liked the results of the selfie camera in the initial shots. The details are coming out in the photo. The selfie camera is taking the same kind of pictures that people like to share on social media these days.
Many AI features have been given in POCO X7 5G like AI Smart-Clip, AI beauty and AI Cutout. Some features will be available in the January OTA update, the most special of which is going to be AI Erase Pro. Using this, any object can be erased from the photo. In the review, we will also explore the AI features of this phone. We will know how useful they are in daily use.
After using POCO X7 5G for two-three days, I can write that the brand has offered users everything that is necessary in the range of Rs 20-30 thousand.
